My musings on the New Testament, Early Christianity, Religion, Literature, and Other Phenomena and Ephemera.
Ouch! and congrats(I meant to ask you on your post whether you thought Paul's advice to Corinthians - "because of the angels" of I Cor 11:10 - had anything to do with the state of angels you describe).
Indirectly, yes. I always have read that verse relating to discussion of the "sons of god" intermarrying with the "daughters of men" and producing a race of giants (Gen. 6) or if you prefer the lengthier variant of the Watchers intermarrying with human women and producing a race of giants who invent war on the earth (Book of Watchers in 1 Enoch). To the degree that angels are depicted as male and, apparently, sexually potent, they must have penises, and those penises, evidently, in a Jewish mindset, would be circumcised--these are Jewish angels and not Gentile gods! So, the fact that they would be circumcised probably would not relate to 1 Corinthians in that sense, but the fact that they have something to circumcise might.
